Welcome!

If you are interested in learning offensive and defensive fighting skills, different styles of bare hand forms and the application of weapons, then you have found the right place. We integrate kicking, striking, punching, catching, pushing, splitting, and other actions into the regular patterns of kung fu.

Dr. Randy Harper, founder and lead instructor at Bellaire Wushu Academy, has been practicing martial arts since the 1970's. Dr. Harper's early years of training were under the direction of Master Peter Morales. He has earned black belts in Karate and Kung Fu. Dr. Harper received his second Black Belt in 1983 from grandmaster Kwong Ming {Johnny} Lee. In 2011 he was promoted to 7th Dan in Kempo. He presently continues his training with former classmate Sifu Gary Todd.

Dr. Harper is Pastor of Bellaire Baptist Church and his first ministry after being saved in 1980 was through Kung Fu demonstrations. Dr. Harper retired from tournaments in 1984 and has done Kung Fu demonstrations and preached the Gospel at over 300 schools in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, North Carolina and Canada. He has also trained thirteen full contact fighters in the past few years with all wins with only two defeats. He owes his success in martial arts and life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and looks forward to sharing his love of martial arts and JESUS with you, your child and your family!

"Praise be to the LORD my Rock, teaching my hands the use of the sword, and my fingers the art of fighting" -Psalm 144:1
